Juuri uuden albuminsa “Stand Up and Fight” julkaissut Turisas käväisee huhtikuussa kiertueidensa lomassa myös Suomessa: bändi ehtii soittaa kotimaassaan kaksi keikkaa, 22.4. Hämeenlinnan Verkatehtaalla ja 23.4. Helsingin Nosturissa. Bändi tulee esiintymään ensimmäistä kertaa myös Tampereen Sauna Open Airissa 10.6.2011.

We are proud to announce that TURISAS will be playing at Download Festival 2011. The world famous festival takes place June 10-12, 2011 at Donington Park in Leicestershire, UK. Other bands on this year’s billing include System of a Down, Disturbed, Def Leppard and Rob Zombie, among others. Turisas’ breakthrough performance at the mighty Download Festival in 2007 can be found on a special edition of the band’s sophomore album “The Varangian Way” (2007).

Netta Skog, accordion player of the Finnish battle metal band Turisas, has been forced to leave the band’s ongoing North American tour due to health reasons. After abruptly leaving the stage mid-show at the House of Blues, Chicago on 20 February, it was clear her current condition requires immediate attention. According to the band, Skog will not be performing at least for the next few shows; more info will follow. The band is currently on tour with Cradle of Filth, supporting their upcoming album titled “Stand Up and Fight”. NB: Turisas are not cancelling / postponing any shows – the band WILL be appearing as advertised.
